What you get
- A complete game. Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert boards, a mine counter, a timer, and a safe first click.
- Mouse and touch controls. Click to reveal, right-click to flag, double-click to chord. On phones, hold a square or turn on Flag mode.
- A light footprint. The frame loads only the game, about the size of a small image, and sets no cookies.
- Automatic height. A one-line script resizes the frame to fit the board. If your site strips scripts, the frame still works at a fixed height.
How to add it
- Pick the starting difficulty above. Players can still switch inside the game.
- Select Copy embed code.
- Paste it into a Custom HTML block (WordPress), an Embed block (Google Sites, Squarespace, Wix), or straight into your page’s HTML.
The code is a standard iframe plus a short credit line, “Free Minesweeper by MinesweeperHQ”. Please keep the credit visible; it is how other people find the game. You are welcome to place the board on any page that suits your readers, including school and library sites.
Good places for a board
Teachers use Minesweeper as a quick logic warm-up: every number is a small proof, and students can explain why a square is safe. Puzzle blogs and brain-game pages use it as a playable break between articles. Community and hobby sites add it to a “fun” or “games” page. Embedding Minesweeper: common questions
Is the embed free?
Yes. There is no account, fee, or usage limit. The game runs in the visitor’s browser.
Does it show ads or track visitors?
No. The embedded game has no ads, no analytics scripts, and sets no cookies. Results are not saved outside the current game.
Can I change the size?
Yes. The frame fills the width of its container up to 640 pixels. Change max-width in the code to make it narrower. Expert boards scroll sideways in narrow frames.
Will it slow down my page?
The frame uses loading="lazy", so browsers load it only when a visitor scrolls near it.
Something looks wrong on my site. Who do I tell?
Email hello@minesweeperhq.com with the page address and we will take a look.
